Tonlé Sap Lake Floating Village

One of the last places I visited while in Siem Reap, Cambodia, after the temples, was a boat ride out to see a floating village. Check out the previous two posts for more about my trip to Southeast Asia back in 2008.

What I saw was literally a whole village on the water. A school, store, homes, all floating on a lake. I’m sure it’s weird to have tourists cruising around your house as a tourist attraction. I believe the people stay there year-round, and most of them make their living from fishing. It was quite a place to witness! I look forward to another overseas trip someday. There is so much to see.
